INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) @ your library

Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, allows you to search for and request to borrow items in thousands of other libraries throughout the United States.  Patrons may request up to three (3) interlibrary loan items per person at at time. This service is free unless a lending library charges.  If an item is not available for free, but only for a charge, the Library will contact you to obtain approval.

PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST NEW RELEASES THROUGH INTERLIBARY LOAN.  If you would like to borrow a new item published within the last 12 months, please submit a SUGGEST A PURCHASE form instead of an interlibrary loan request.

Due to considerable cost in terms of staff time and postage, the Library adheres to the following guidelines:

Types of materials available to borrow through interlibrary loan:

  1. Books
  2. Audiobooks
  3. DVDs – Feature Films and Documentaries
  4. Photocopies of articles from magazines, newspapers, and journals
  5. Some genealogy materials

Types of materials not available to borrow through Interlibrary Loan:

  1. Items the Library already owns or is ordering
  2. New items published or released within the last 12 months based on availability at lending libraries
  3. Journal, magazine, or newspaper articles available through our online library databases
  4. Downloadable content, electronic resources, or computer games
  5. Textbooks
  6. Whole issues of magazines or newspapers
  7. Some genealogy materials

If you’d like to renew an ILL item, please contact the Library on or shortly before the date that the item is due. Some libraries do not renew interlibrary loans.
