REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER READING

Welcome to San Juan Island Library’s Summer Reading Program!
We have fun planned for families, children, tweens, teens and adults. Starting on Friday June 13th, stop by the San Juan Island Library to pick up a Summer Reading Program Starter Kit or participate online with the Beanstack app.
Also happening this summer are special events for a variety of ages and our popular Wednesday Afternoon Performance series featuring professional family-fun entertainment. See our calendar for a complete list of Summer Reading events
Kid’s Summer Reading
Win prizes, books, and entries into our Grand Prize Raffle Drawing! There are multiple ways to participate. Try all of them or select the option that suits you and/or your child best!

Register in person to get a Summer Reading Program starter kit. The kit includes all you need to get started on winning prizes plus a few extra goodies – activity sheets, bookmarks, stickers, tattoos, and more! You may also use our online Beanstack app to participate and track your progress digitally. The Beanstack app is free and easy to download through your app store.
Each participant who registers for the Summer Reading Program can win prizes for reaching your reading and activity goals.
-First Prize: Small prize of your choice
-Second Prize: Sweet Retreat coupon for an ice cream cone or shaved ice
-Final Prize: A new book of your choice to keep and an entry into the Grand Prize Raffle Drawing. The Grand Prize is a set of gift certificates to local stores and restaurants.

Teen Summer Reading
Teen Summer Reading Program is open to youth entering 6th-12th grade in the 2025-2026 school year. Track your progress online using the Beanstack link above, or print out this reading log to get started. Copies are also available for pick up at the library.
Track the days you read from Friday, June 13 – Friday August 22 and win prizes!

Instructions
- Make a daily reading goal for yourself. Example: 45 minutes
- Mark off a paint can for every day you read, or use Beanstack to track your reading, between June 13 and August 22.
- For every 7 days that you read, you earn a prize!
Prizes
- 7 days: Free book AND digital ticket for Grand Prize Drawing
- 14 & 21 days: Your choice of prize AND digital ticket for Grand Prize Drawing
- Each subsequent 7 days: Digital ticket for Grand Prize Drawing
Other Information
- Digital tickets for the Grand Prize Drawing are awarded every 7 days of reading, and for attending library events. You decide which of the drawings you want each ticket you earn to be entered into.
- All reading must be entered into the Beanstack app or brought to the library on or before August 22 for digital tickets to be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing.
- Physical prizes can be picked up at the library through the end of August.
Adult Summer Reading
Adult Summer Reading is open to everyone aged 18+. Starting June 13th and lasting through Labor Day, track your reading to enter into a raffle to win prizes!
How to participate:
- The program runs from June 13 to September 1st (Labor Day). You can join in at any time.
- Reading and re-reading both count! All books must be completely read by September 1st.
- Each book counts for a single square. You can’t use the same book to cross off multiple squares.
- The prize winners will be chosen at random from all eligible participants. To qualify, you must complete a BINGO (at least one row, column, or diagonal line). Overachievers – those who complete multiple BINGOs – will receive one entry per completed BINGO.
- The Bonus Activities BINGO can only be completed once. You can get 1 raffle ticket for a BINGO (one row, column, or diagonal line) and a second raffle ticket for a blackout (complete all squares on the board)
- Turn in your completed BINGOs and claim your raffle tickets or a new BINGO board from the San Juan Island Library Circulation desk.
