Know Your Islanders: John Aschoff, Mapping the Salish Sea, Monday, October 7 at 7 pm
October 7 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Planet Earth is mostly covered by ocean waters, and even though we depend on those waters to sustain our lives, we know less about the topography of the seafloor than that of the moon or Mars. Fortunately, researchers have been mapping the seafloor surrounding our islands. Come hear why this is important, how these maps are being developed, and how scientists have been using this information to better understand this inland sea, from finding fish to fault lines.
