Farming Along the Old Military Trail: A View From San Juan Valley on Wed, October 13 at 7:00pm
October 13 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Prior to its use during the Pig War as a connector between English and American Camps, the Military Road was constructed by employees of the Hudson’s Bay Company and members of the Cowichan tribe to link the pastures of Belle Vue Sheep Farm. The Road became intimately connected with the development of San Juan Island agriculture. Join local historian Boyd Pratt for an evening of history followed by a field trip to the Valley, the heart of island farming.
