Meet Bellingham Author & Editor Mary Gillilan at the Library

Join us on Saturday, March 17th at 7:00pm to hear Bellingham Author Mary Gillilan talk about her experiences as a writer and editor-in-chief.  Mary is the author of Tibet, A Writer's Journal and the editor-in-chief of Clover: A Literary Rag.  Tibet, A Writer's Journal tells the fictional story of 50-year old Emmy Lasater's pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash in the frontier of western Tibet.  At 50 years of age and challenged with cerebral palsy and self-doubt, Emmy's life stories come to life as she defies the odds that she can complete the circumnavigation of the mountain over the Drolma La at 18,500 feet and wills herself to complete the Kora.

Mary is also the editor-in-chief for Clover: A Literary Rag, a Bellingham-based and produced anthology of poetry short stories and essays is the brain child of Norman L. Green and Mary Elizabeth Gillilan.  Much of the writing comes out of Gillilan’s Independent Writers’ Studio.  Now in its 3rd year, the Studio offers workshops in poetry, novel, and essay at Recession prices.  Writers meet weekly, and each has an opportunity to publish in Clover.
