Library to host Harry Potter Party
The San Juan Island Library will
host a very special party to celebrate the release of the
latest book in the Harry Potter series on Saturday July 16th
beginning at 2 PM in the meeting room. Children aged 7 years
and up are encouraged to attend. Reservations are available by
calling or coming by the public library.
Come dressed as your favorite
Harry Potter character and you could win a prize! Try your
luck with some "Bertie Bott's Every flavor beans" and other
wizardly treats and games. The new book in J.K. Rowling's
series, "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" will be
released on July 16 and the library is having a party. "Let's
celebrate!" said the Youth Services Librarian, Shannan Sword,
who joined the library staff at the end of June.
The library has purchased ten
copies of the book in print and two copies on audio cassette
and one copy on CD. Holds may be placed on any of these
formats now.
Summer Reading Program takes place
every Wednesday through August 3 at 1:30 PM at the public
library. Come for fun entertainment, and win prizes for the
time kids spend reading.
Library hours are Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Tuesday and Thursday
from 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday
from 1 PM to 5 PM. Library cards are free to island residents
with proof of residency.
