A Discussion of The Laramie Project as a Literary Work
 

        As part of the community-wide exploration of themes and issues addressed in the upcoming play The Laramie Project, the San Juan Island Library is hosting an open discussion on the play as a work of literature on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:00 pm.
 

        Fred Yockers, drama teacher at Friday Harbor High School and Middle School, will lead the discussion. He will be examining the themes and structure of the play and also comparing the play as written to the recent HBO film adaptation
.

        The program will take place in the San Juan Island Library, which is currently under construction. An added bonus will be a sneak preview of the new layout and furnishings. The library will reopen to the public on March 15.
