"Films of the 1960's"
Available at the Library
The San Juan Island Library is co-sponsoring a class on "Films
of the 1960's." Participants will watch videos of movies such as
"Psycho", "Dr. Strangelove", "The Graduate", "Bonnie & Clyde",
and "Midnight Cowboy". These were all important milestones in
film history. The class will use these and other movies to learn
about both film and the world of the 1960's, discussing the
qualities that make these movies important socially and
artistically.
The eight-week course will be taught by Bridget Kiley, who holds
a Master's degree in Cinema/Criticism/Theory from the University
of Southern California. Call 378-5906 to register for this eight
week class, or call 378-2798 for more information. The class
will be held in the Library meeting room. The cost is $50.
Library hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 AM to 6
PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM
