San Juan Island Library announces the winners of the Bookmark Design Contest sponsored by the Friends of the San Juan Island Library. Four designs (shown at right) were chosen. The designs will be printed as the official bookmarks of the San Juan Island Library from June 1999 to June 2000. The winners are Kimbell Hall (5^th grade), Jonathan Balise (3^rd grade), Callie Bartlett (2^nd grade) and Devin Curtis (5^th grade). They will receive a $15.00 gift certificate for a book. Winners will be acknowledged at the first summer reading program at the San Juan Island Library on June 16 at 4 PM. Look for the four winning bookmarks and 10 honorable mentions on display at the library during the month of June. The 10 honorable mentions are: Wynn Barnard (3^rd grade), Eric Rothlisberger (5^th grade), Ben Wight (3^rd grade), Lindsay Campbell (5^th grade), Brent Owens (2^nd grade), William Tranfo (1^st grade), Dustin Rouleau (4^th grade), Brit Banry (5^th grade), Kate Fyrqvist (3^rd grade) and Ashley Morrill (3^rd grade).
