FACTS.COM
now available to all library patrons
The
san juan island library announces
the availability of a new Internet on-line database, FACTS.com. FACTS.com
offers patrons a searchable, on-line version of such respected
information sources as Facts on File World News Digest, Reuters
news service, and the World Almanac.
Library patrons may use this resource from within the Library
itself, and also remotely through the Library's web site at http://www.sjlib.org.
"The Internet becomes really useful as an information
resource when you're able to access such well-developed,
information-rich sites as FACTS.com, rather than relying on
standard Internet search engines and directories. Unfortunately
for individual users, using these types of sites can sometimes
be cost prohibitive. But, through specially priced public sector
licensing, we're able to offer some wonderful resources to the
community that none of us might otherwise get to use," says
Wade Guidry, the Library's technologist. For a summary of all
of the Library's on-line resources, visit http://www.sjlib.org/databasenews.html.
