The San Juan Island Library District (SJILD) establishes a Job Resource Station for patrons.

The San Juan Island Library District today announces the availability of a new Job Resource Station for patrons. This dedicated workstation provides resumé and cover letter authoring software, links to selected career sites on the Internet, and presentation-quality printing. "We’ve put in place this resource based on the heavy use our word processing stations receive from patrons conducting job searches. Now, these patrons have the option of using software specifically designed to help them with resumés and cover letters. The software also includes advice and tips on conducting job searches and surviving the interviewing process," says Kathleen McHarg, the library’s director. Patrons may use the new Job Resource Station on a walk-in basis during all regular library hours. Patrons may also sign up for a 10 minute one-on-one tutoring session covering the new software. Any individuals with strong resumé development experience wishing to volunteer as a resumé tutor may contact the library at 378-2798. The library’s Internet address is www.sanjuan.lib.wa.us.
