The San Juan Island Library District (SJILD) stocks up for summer reading.
The San Juan Island Library stands well stocked this year to meet annual summer reader demand for good books, with over 200 new fiction and non-fiction titles acquired during May and June alone. Fiction fans can choose from a wide variety of mystery, contemporary, and historical titles by authors such as Anne Siddons, Marge Piercy, Stuart Woods, Ann Beattie and Jan Burke, to name just a few. Non-fiction aficionados must decide among books covering science, psychology, history, the outdoors, and many other subjects, with such authors as Gail Sheehy, Pat Schroeder, Peter Coyote, and Andre Dubus among those represented. To make reading decisions even more difficult, the library’s circulating CD-ROM collection continues to grow and now includes the World Book and Encarta electronic encyclopedias as well as many other new titles. The library’s on-line catalog makes available a list of the library’s most recent acquisitions to patrons visiting the library; the library’s web site, www.sanjuan.lib.wa.us, provides the same list to Internet users.
