Welcome to the San Juan Island Library Summer
Reading Program for 2006.
Elementary aged students are invited to have
fun and earn prizes at our annual Summer
Reading Program, "PAWS, CLAWS, SCALES,
AND TALES!" Sign up at the library begins
on June
15th or come to the first entertainment
program at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 28th and
sign up then. In addition to lots of great
reading, elementary aged students will enjoy
weekly scheduled entertainment and fun
activities each Wednesday at 1:30 at the
library through August 2nd. Readers
who meet their reading goal may pick up their
Blue Ribbons at the Library's Booth during the
100th celebration of the San Juan County Fair!
Celebrate Summer Reading and march in the 4th
of July Parade with the library.
Come to the library on Friday, June 30th for
Storytime and make an animal mask to wear in
the parade. Mask Making will take place in the
library's meeting room at 11:30AM.
Bookmark Design Contest
The Friends of the San Juan Island Library are
sponsored the annual Bookmark Design Contest
for children in grades K-5. Students designed a bookmark illustrating their love of
reading and books or depicting our 2006 Summer
Reading Program theme: PAWS, CLAWS,
SCALES, AND TALES!
