The San Juan History & Jim Crook Collections
The Jim Crook Collection is a online collection telling the story of the respected San Juan Island pioneer, Jim Crook. The Crook family homesteaded English Camp in 1875 shortly after the Pig War. Jim lived at English Camp until his death at age 93, caring for the land and the people on it. Jim Crook’s spirit of ingenuity and resourcefulness represent a way of life still valued and practiced on our island. Items in the collection include photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, equipment, clothing, audio interviews, and video.
This on-line collection was made possible by a grant from the Washington State Library & the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
